Someone once said, "You are either, in trouble, going through trouble or coming out of trouble" I have found this to be true. Have you? Its always something! Every day on this planet presents us with troubles. These troubles present us with choices triggering changes for better or worse every singe day. Its weird, I sometimes don't know if those changes are going to help or hurt. Sometimes fear of the unknown is so strong that we don't do anything and hope that the trouble will just go away. News flash, doing nothing is a choice too. going forward I choose to take troubles head on and make changes with courage. Will you?
Ever since the trouble began with my son, there have been days where I have struggled just to stay present. I find myself doing mindless activity just to keep my consciousness form being in touch with what is happening. I mentally shake myself as if to bounce myself out of this reality, with the thought, "no, this can't be happening". But it is happening. Everyday I have to face the fact that my son is literally fighting for his life and so are we. We have chosen to fight back. We have taken to the airwaves to remind the public about Michael. We don't want his story forgotten. Because he was an Uber driver, someone feels the need to make him an example in a situation that would be considered "self defense" What I have come to understand is that this issue is at the surface of a deeper issue.
I believe there is a spiritual battle going on here. A battle for a man's soul. It has taken on the manifestation of an incident, which is being used to break not only the man but the family as well. When you know who your enemy is, you can garner the weapons of warfare to do battle and defeat him.
When Michael was a small boy, the Word of God was spoken over him that he was to be a Prophet and a Teacher. He would reach people in places that others couldn't go. The enemy has tried to kill him several times. He has had chronic illness, been in car accidents, and found himself in situations that could have cost him his life. BUT GOD! When the hand of the Lord is upon your life and you choose to walk towards the light, no power from the enemy can stand in the way. I'm not saying there won't be hardship and trouble, but like David, you will encourage yourself in the Lord. Like the Apostle Paul said, "Be strong in the Lord and the Power of His might, putting on the whole armor of God that you can stand against the enemy Ephesians 6:10-11
The thing is, when you choose to trust God, the enemy will come for you and try to bring as much trouble as he can. Remember this, he can't do any more than the Father will allow. Troubles help us to grow strong, be brave and walk closer to God. James 1:2 Consider it pure joy when you face troubles of may kinds, because the tests make you stronger. (paraphrased) When I look back and see the hard times that God has brought me through I realize that I am stronger, wiser and better for them.
Seeing the growth, maturity and change in Michael is so encouraging. Through this trouble, God is guiding him right to the place he was destined to be. We as a family are better for it.
Beloved, if you find yourself in trouble, ask the Father what He wants you to know about this and how he wants you to walk through it. If you find yourself heading into a troubling situation, ask the Father to give you strength, wisdom and courage. Finally if you find yourself coming out of trouble, thank God for His peace in the storm and His rest. Know that wherever you find yourself that there is a God who loves and cares. He is ready to grow you through, if you choose to believe and trust Him everyday.
Psalm 34:19 " The righteous may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all". NIV
Until next time,
Blessings and Peace,
